What is a trial well for?

Drilling a trial well at a suitable location to determine the presence of an aquifer (underground water source), its capacity and water table levels.

Results from the trial well will determine:

  1. Type of overburden and bedrock encountered e.g. clay, gravel, limestone, granite
  2. Where we encounter inflows of water
  3. Diameter of Production well if required
  4. Estimated yield of well
  5. Water table level
  6. If further trial wells are required

Pump Testing On A Typical Trial Well

A trial well is essential first step to making a full production well, these trials allows to gather the necessary data to design the best production well for your site needs, ensuring high, consistent quality water and efficient well development
